My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Latte, who was born in our care almost 3 years ago and adopted to a family at just 9 weeks to be raised, loved, trained, exercised and socialized. Unfortunately,  Latte was returned to us at 2.5 years old,  unsocialized, untrained and unexercized. Latte had no idea how to be a dog, she was scared of her own shadow. We immediately sent Latte to our board and train program at TCDT to speedily help her become the best dog that she can be. So young, so driven and her whole life ahead of her. We HAD TO help her. Latte has been professionally trained for a few months now and is ready to meet her real forever family. This medium sized, medium-energy sweetheart possesses a heart filled with love and affection waiting to be unleashed! Despite the challenges she has faced, she remains resilient and demonstrates unwavering loyalty. Latte is a pint-sized Labrador Mix who thrives on love and craves the companionship of a patient and understanding soul who can provide the safe haven she deserves. Latte will thrive in a home with someone who has experience with dogs who need a little extra help getting comfortable. Patience, consistency, and training will be key in building her trust and confidence -- Latte would prefer a calm and peaceful household without young children or high-energy pets. Witnessing her journey from fear to trust and seeing her blossom into the loving companion she's destined to be will bring immense fulfillment to Latte's potential family. In return, she will shower you with unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and moments of pure happiness.  We are hoping to find a family in the following areas so that Latte can continue training with True Companion Dog Training which is already convered by us for her potential family: Are you the special person who can provide Latte with the loving and confident home she deserves? Join us in offering her a second chance at a beautiful life.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

The first step of the adoption process is to complete an adoption application in full at www.rescuecity.nyc. All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout the city. We do not have a physical location where we keep dogs.

More about this rescue

Rescue City is a no-kill, non-profit1 pet rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption organization. Our team of dedicated volunteers is based in Brooklyn, NY and serves the NYC metro and surrounding areas.

Our organization’s motto is: There’s a person for every dog, and there’s a dog for every person…it’s just a matter of time. This applies whether you are looking to adopt a pet, or would like to make a positive impact on the lives of animals. At Rescue City we believe it is our moral responsibility to defend the lives of abused, abandoned, and neglected animals.
We take on helpless stray and surrendered animals, as well as those at the top of the euthanasia list at local and international shelters. We place our rescues in nurturing foster homes while they rebuild their lives through physical and mental rehabilitation. Following a thorough – but hassle free – adoption process, our Rescues are placed in loving, responsible, and committed permanent homes. Every rescue is fully vetted and altered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated upon adoption. Our commitment to our rescues does not stop once the adoption paperwork is signed. We stress the importance of responsible pet ownership, and we educate our Fosters, Adopters, and community on what it means to be a good pet owner.
