My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Love lots of sweet female energy? Great, because so does Rosa! We don't know what happened to Rosa before we caught her living on the grounds of Wm B Travis High School, but whatever it was, made her very nervous of men. Rosa is looking for an all-female household for her forever.

Rosa was reported by a good Samaritan as being seen on the I-35 feeder road just south of Austin. When we went to look for her, we found she had been living in the area on her own for around 3 weeks, seen at the high school by staff and students, always racing and darting. No one could get close enough to her to attempt to make friends.

But it didn't take long for Rosa to find our trap the first night we went to look for her and was in our trap only hours later. She was nervous, but immediately sweet. We named her after Travis's wife, Rosalina because the women behind the men of history rarely get their due.

It took Rosa a ew days to decompress from her weeks alone, but in only a few days she was bonding to her foster mom like a champ, eating from her hand, asking for pets, and cuddling. Rosa is a sweet, funny girl who will melt your heart. She loves to play and loves the company of another dog. She is young and has lots of energy...not overpowering energy, but loves walks and running zoomies. Her house training could use some work and she is a bit of a rascal about finding things to make her own toys if you leave them laying about. At 28 lbs, she's a perfectly medium size. Rosa takes a minute to warm up to new people but once she does, she is a constant companion. With women anyway. Rosa doesn't seem to warm up to men as quickly. She does a lot of barking and growling at men, and it doesn't seem to improve quickly. However, she hasn't had a man really give her a lot of consistent attention to see if that is something she can overcome. But in general, we think Rosa will have the best chance of success in a household with only women.

If you think Rosa could be a fit for you, she would love to meet you!
