My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zara is an energetic, playful and loving dog that also has a "couch potato" side. She has the biggest smile you have ever seen and huge brown eyes that you can get lost in. Zara is great at fetch and loves a good rope toy as long as you are on the other end to tug with her. She is bilingual (Spanish and English) and is working on commands using hand gestures. Zara is housetrained, good on a leash (even working on off-leash!), and great with other dogs! She is also great with children.

Additional adoption info

Found an animal on our site and want to meet them or find out more about them? Fill out the adoption questionnaire located below and submit to us. Once we have reviewed/approved your application, we will provide you with the foster contact information so that you can find out more and arrange a “meet and greet”. All of our animals are located in foster homes throughout the Triangle area.

When going to a “meet and greet”, please make sure you take any family members and other pets (if at all possible) to observe their interactions. This can make introduction into the new home easier for the animals and for you.

The animal’s foster parent will ultimately make a recommendation to the organization regarding the permanent placement of the animal. Once an adoption decision has been made by both parties, we ask for an adoption fee to help us cover spay/neutering, shots, medical treatment, food and supplies – this amount only partially cover the cost of expenses and allows us to help as many animals as possible!

What if the adoption doesn’t work out? We have a lifetime return policy on our animals as we don’t want to see them turned back into a shelter.
