Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet this sweetie named Charlie! She originally came into the shelter April 1, 2021 when her owner could no longer keep her. She was adopted months after awaiting her new home and owner was unable to keep her so she came back months after being around around May 2022. She is 7 years 6 months old (July. 2023), current on shots, (spayed December 2021), and house broken. She seems to get along with children who are respectful of her not trying to climb or jump hard on or with her from what her original owner said. Climbing up on the couch for some relaxation is something she really likes too when in a home. She has gotten a little kennel stressed but once out she’s at ease and happy…loves to get rubbed on or brushed and play…especially fetching a ball or 2 or 3. . She has met some pups and has seemed good with most of them. Most all are males. If they are wild and all over her that seems to make her feel uncomfortable so calmer dogs are best. A fun/loving home would be ideal for her though she likes to play so a home that will giver her plenty of exercise is needed as well. She’s beautiful inside and out and misses her cozy home life setting. Don’t let her age fool you she has a lot of pep in her step. Maybe you have the most perfect loving FOREVER home for Charlie?! Stop by for a visit with her today!
If you have another dog and are interested in meeting another potential new furry member please bring him or her to the shelter and meet on neutral ground before adopting. No need to shuffle the animals around any more than necessary. Please know that 1 mosquito bite can create heart worms and they can be fatal if not treated. It is VERY important to keep your pets healthy and protected by keeping them on a once a month heart worm and flea/tick prevention. These animals are counting on you as their owner to provide them with lots a love and the proper health care so PLEASE make sure you are aware and prepared before adopting. Owning a pet is an extra expense and responsibility but is so worth every minute and penny you invest in them. They will add lots of joy and unconditional love if given a fair chance.
The shelter is open Mon.-Fri. 10-1, 2-5, Sat. 10-4. Adopt a homeless pet and save a life. If you can not adopt right now come out and volunteer and make a difference in the lives of these animals while they await their FOREVER home.
In order to adopt any of our "bully breeds" there is special paper work that will need to be collected and approved prior to the adoption. We love all of our dogs and want to make sure to place our "bully babies" in homes best suited for them.
