Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Trixie, the cutest little senior girl on earth! Trixie is approximately 12 years old, weighs in around 4.5 lbs, and is a sassy little lady!
Trixie joined CRT after her mom entered assisted care and the family wanted her to have a chance to be the center of someone’s world. She is an independent woman, who cuddles when she wants, will stalk her person around the house and is content to lay in a bed while you are otherwise occupied. She's super cute approaching a dog bed, she backs up onto it with her butt in order to lay down. Just keep in mind, if she has a canine companion she wants to cuddle with she will approach them the exact same way and sit on them.
Trixie is over all in great health for 12 years old! She has maybe two teeth left in her mouth, eats VERY slowly and is picky about her food choices. Her heart is nice and strong according to the last vet she saw, but she does have arthritis in her hips. She’s started on some joint supplements which seem to be helping immensely!
Trixie would do well in a quieter home, with a calm canine companion or as an only dog. She gets along great with cats, walks on a leash, and would prefer to have a stay at home companion!
She is mostly housebroken, but like most senior pups she goes when she has to go regardless of where she is! Trixie has been trained to pee pads when isolated in a single room, but will not use them if left free to roam the house. Trixie does go potty outside if taken frequently.
She is spayed, UTD on shots, HW neg and on HW prevention.
Her adoption donation is $250.00.
If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below.
To submit an application go here……chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/
An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled.
Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative.
Reference checks and a home visit are required so SE dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD and GA.
