My story

Gabe is now a very sweet boy that usually starts purring when you pet him! Before coming into his current fosters home he was failed by two humans. They both didn’t understand that he was just scared and needed time and patience to trust. Gabe had never been around humans prior so didn’t know what to expect. His current foster Momma has seen him sprout like a beautiful flower! He still has some work to do (not sure about being picked up yet and gets nervous with new sounds/sights) but that work can continue in his forever home. Gabe needs an owner that has had cats in the past. Is patient, understanding and that is willing to continue working with him. His foster Mom can be on speed dial and will help through the process!! Gabe is  good with his foster Mom’s dog and absolutely loves the other cats! A home with at least 1 confident kitty is a must. Gabe takes his queues knowing everything is ok by watching the other cats. DOB 11/10/2017 Please no children for this cat

Why adoption is a great option

Gabe, a Rochester Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Rochester, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Rochester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester paves the way for another one to be saved.
