Some dogs light up a room just by being in it—and Bright is one of them. At 12 years old, this goofy gentleman has weathered a lot: two surgeries to remove Mast Cell Tumors and yucky teeth, a few new lumps and bumps, and more vet visits than any dog should have to endure. But here’s the thing—Bright doesn’t know. He isn`t suffering. He is happy. He’s loving life.
His days are filled with the little things that make him happiest: tiny “potty parades” around the yard, dramatic couch flops, and sweet, insistent nudges that mean “Please keep petting me.” He loves to cuddle, resting his head on your leg for pats. He`ll parade around the house with his stuffy toy, flipping it around with his eyes sparkling.
His retirement dream? A fenced yard for leisurely sniffing, short and gentle walks, and a soft spot on the couch where he can keep watch over your snack choices. Every day with him will be a day he fills with joy, gratitude, and tail wags.

More about this shelter

CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.

CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
