My story

Ham Sandwich is an adorable young girl with a sweet disposition who is still learning to trust people. She came to the shelter as a very shy and frightened cat. She initially hid in the back of her cage but was never aggressive. With time, Ham Sandwich is beginning to come out of her shell. She enjoys gentle chin and head scratches and loves to play with strings and other toys. She also is crazy about treats and wet food. She still does not want to be held, but once she knows you she will come to the front of the cage for pets. Ham Sandwich is a "project kitty" looking for the purr-fect home with a cat-savvy human companion who will work with her and give her time to adjust to her new home. She does not seem to mind other friendly animals and would likely do well with a gentle feline companion or very mellow dogs given proper introduction. Treats and playing, with gentle, slow pets, will be critical in letting this pretty girl blossom into a wonderful companion.
