Meet Doug, a handsome 7-year-old silver tabby with a heart as soft as his fur. Doug enjoys affection—but only on his terms. He’s not a fan of being picked up, but he’ll happily come find you when he’s ready for pets or a cozy snuggle at your side.
He’s also a devoted treat enthusiast and will make sure you never forget when snack time rolls around. Doug is an independent guy with a big personality and lots of love to give… as long as you respect his boundaries.
Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Saturday and Sundays have walk-in hours from noon to 4 PM. ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second Chance SPCA, please come during open hours. Adopters will visit with an adoption counselor and complete a short application. Adopters must live within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and be at least 21 years old. Renters must provide proof of pet deposit and/or written permission by landlord to have a pet.
ADOPTION FEES: Includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, fecal, and heartworm test (dogs) or FeLV/FIV test (cats). All cats and dogs are current on heartworm and flea preventative. $275 for puppies under 6 months of age and $225 for dogs older than 6 months. $175 for kittens under 6 months of age and $150 for cats older than 6 months.

Since 2006, we have operated Plano's first no-kill animal shelter. Our mission is to rescue at-risk cats and dogs from local municipal shelters.
