Hi, my name is Muffin and I am a 3-year-old, shy, Terrier-X. A little over a week ago, I was so happy because I thought I was going for a car ride—I love car rides! When my owner stopped the car, I didn’t recognize the place but I thought we were just going for a visit. I did hear my owner tell the lady at the pound that I was just too much responsibility and the family just didn’t have time for me. I whimpered and barked but my owner just walked away. I may not be the “perfect” dog, but I really thought that I was the perfect dog for my family. I don’t speak “human”, so I couldn’t really ask what I had done wrong. A few days later, Helen, the nice lady at Animatch took me to the Centre and promised that my next home would be fur-ever. Adopting me is a big responsibility; you will have to play with me, exercise me, teach me good manners, groom me, feed me, give me water, let me out for a pee, and last but not least love me. I count on my people to do all this. I admit taking care of me is not all fun and some of the work can get old really fast, but I will definitely give you my undying love and affection in return. Allô, mon nom est Muffin et je suis une femelle Terrier-X, gênée, âgée de 3 ans. Il y a environ une semaine, j’étais si heureuse parce que je pensais aller pour une promenade en auto—j’adore les promenades en auto ! Lorsque mon gardien s’est arrêté, je n’ai pas reconnu l’endroit, mais je pensais qu’on allait simplement pour une visite. J’ai entendu mon gardien dire à la dame de la fourrière que j’étais trop de responsabilité et que la famille n’avait simplement pas de temps pour moi. J’ai pleuré et jappé, mais mon gardien s’en est allé. Je ne suis pas le chien “parfait”, mais je pensais vraiment être le chien parfait pour ma famille. Je ne parle pas “humain”, alors je ne pouvais pas demander ce que j’avais fait de mal. Quelques jours plus tard, Helen, la gentille dame d’Animatch, m’a amenée au Centre et a promis que mon prochain foyer serait mon foyer permanent. M’adopter est une grande responsabilité; vous devez jouer avec moi, m’exercer, me montrer des bonnes manières, me toiletter, me nourrir, me donner de l’eau, me faire sortir pour faire pipi et le dernier et non le moindre, m’aimer. Je compte sur mon monde pour faire tout ceci. J’admets que prendre soin de moi n’est pas toujours plaisant, mais je vous donnerai définitivement mon amour et mon affection en retour.
