My story

Frost is a beautiful border collie who can easily get you hooked with his blue eyes and fluffy ears. While he possesses all of the great physical attributes of a border collie, Frost is as mellow as they come with no interest in herding or nipping behaviors common in the breed. The very chill Frost enjoys naps on his dog bed, casual strolls in the backyard and cuddling on the couch with his family to catch a great binge series. When he isn't napping, Frost will typically have his favorite toy in tow and keep tabs on his people. Work from home? Frost is the perfect office companion and foot warmer. Enjoy traveling? Frost easily and quickly settles into a vehicle and will most likely be napping before you leave the driveway.

Frost is more than just a good looking co-pilot, he's fully housebroken and knows hand signals for sit and lie down and has a short stay. He isn't a surfer (including countertops), isn't a big jumper and he's too proud to beg at the dinner table. Frost loves his family with his whole heart and as a result does have some separation anxiety. With a bit of initial patience and very little medication, Frost will eventually settle in and can then be left alone with no concerns. He also isn't interested in sharing his family with other pets (primarily cats or dogs). Frost likes to have his humans all to himself and doesn't care to play with other dogs. When Frost does venture out on his own, he'll need a fenced-in yard. While not a runner, Frost is a surprisingly quick wanderer who will simply put his head down and meander in a direction with little regard to where he's actually going. Frost's indiscriminate exploring is made easier due to his deafness (hence the hand signals mentioned above) and limited peripheral vision. Frost easily navigates stairs and can safely run around throughout his surroundings so there's no detrimental impact to his well-being, he's just missing an understanding family who might enjoy impressing their friends with doggie sign language. Frost is very well-behaved, but isn't overly interested in playing or the type of cuddling that comes from small children. He would do best in a home where the children are old enough to respect his space when he wants it.

We know Frost will need someone patient and understanding to work with him but the love he will give in return will make it all worthwhile.

Our adoption donation is $300.00.  This includes up-to-date vetting, microchipping, heartworm, flea and tick prevention, and spay/neuter. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns along the way.  Hopefully, rescuing one of our pups would provide him a chance to benefit from all you have to give!
