My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

King is the most handsome 8 year old, 115 lb pitbull/mastiff mix who’s heart is just as big as he is! He is friendly, happy, social, wiggly, snuggly, gentle and just the sweetest boy you ever met. King loves everyone he meets, and has done well meeting large and small dogs on leash outside. He is currently being fostered with 3 other dogs and does well with them after proper introductions and supervision. King can share his home with another calm, mellow dog who matches his demeanor, but certainly wouldn’t mind being “king of his castle” since he loves his humans attention. No cats or small critters for this big guy! King is house trained, and well behaved inside the home. He will sit and give his paw for treats, which he takes gently, and he shares his toys with his humans. He loves hanging outside, going for walks exploring, and then curling up with his human for quality couch time afterwards. King's perfect home would be one with his very own secure, fenced in yard, one with older children due to his size and strength, and preferably one with some XL dog experience. King is a true gentle giant and will make an amazing companion for an big dog lover!

King's adoption fee is $325. He is being fostered in North Haven, CT. To adopt this pet, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
