My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Stimpy is 11 years old and 17 pounds.  He looks like a Shih Tzu or Havanese mix to us.  He is handsome and that's all that matters!   Stimpy came to us from a local shelter.  He was adopted out a year ago and was returned, not the same dog.  He was not cared for at all and you could tell his little heart was broken.  We are determined that his next home will be his final one!

Stimpy is a quiet boy that just wants to be wherever his foster mom is.  He walks slow so sometimes he has to turn right around to catch up with her!  He is happiest when she is sitting down and he can curl up by her feet!  Stimpy walks nicely on a leash and is crate trained, although he will cry initially.  He is ok with older, calm dogs and is not a fan of energetic puppies.  He would not mind being the only dog in his home.  Cats are no issue at all.  Stimpy can do stairs but he is not 100% comfortable and he goes slow.  So a no stair/limited stairs home would be ideal or his owner must be able to carry him. Older kids only - he is way past the rambunctious kid stage.   Stimpy's right eye is sunken in and it was not like that when he was adopted out by the shelter the first time.  He clearly had some trauma.  It gives him a sad and sleepy look.  He arrived to us with a severe ear infection and his coat was a mess.  He was rarely let outside.  We can't imagine how happy he felt once he got some love and attention in his foster home!  He looks like a million bucks now that he has been professionally groomed too - he will need regular grooming throughout his lifetime too so please take that into consideration.

Stimpy is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  He has also had bloodwork and dental done with a fractured tooth removed. He has a heart murmur too - an x ray was taken and his heart is not enlarged and he does not need medication.   His adoption fee is $200 to help with his medical bills.
