My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maggie!

Maggie's my favorite kind of girl. Happy, willing to learn, purebred, beautiful, fixed and healthy!
If only all dogs came to foster care this way!

Maggie's a beautiful smooth collie (short haired). She's affectionate, curious, eager to learn, and seems to be happy to adapt to new situations. She's a petiet 50#, gets along great with other dogs large and small, does great with the cats, has never been around kids but is just learning about them and seems to be interested in making friends. She's shy at first but then again all the new stuff here is scary and she's taking it all in stride.

Maggie's come to us because she likes to play with chickens. Her mom sadly and lovingly decided that for the sake of the family's feathered friends Maggie needs to find a happy, loving home that doesn't involve them. She's never been away from home before so this is a big adjustment with lots of firsts. She met her first BIG dogs. Did great once she realized she wasn't on the menu. She's seeing cars for the first time. The small dogs and cats she had at home so they look familiar. She's meeting people, kids, seeing more of the world than she's ever seen. She's also learning about becoming an indoor dog. So far she's taken to crate training like she's been doing it forever, is loving walks outside to see and smell all the new things, she's learning to play with toys, sleeping on dog beds, is confused by the tv but will learn.. animal planet gets her staring at the screen. She's learning to use a dog door and is just generally making herself at home.
If you're willing to be patient with her and be there to assure her that the world's an ok place she's just loving and sweet. If that sounds like someone you'd like to spend time with give me a call. Maggie would love to meet you.
