Phoebe was found as a stray in northern MD, matted and covered in ticks. It did not take this total sweetie long to settle back into living in a home. This is what her foster human says about her:
She likes hanging out with her humans, frequently sitting on or near us. Given opportunity, she also likes sleeping next to us. She sees us off when we leave and greets us at the door when we return. She is calm as can be, and during the almost two weeks that she’s been with us has not barked once. Phoebe loves eating and appears in the kitchen whenever food is being prepared or served despite her not quite perfect vision and hearing. She will even spin and dance at mealtimes. Sometimes she likes long walks, where she might act curious about other dogs but never lunge at them; other times, she wants to go outside, do her thing, and get back to the couch. Phoebe slips on the wood stairs in our house but can bound up other types of stairs.
Phoebe has Cushing’s Disease, where her body produces too much cortisol. This is controlled with a daily pill. She is the perfect dog to spend quiet days with you and snuggle with you in the evenings.

Dogs will only be adopted to residents of the following: Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and DC.
Adopters must agree to take the dog through obedience training within 3 months of adoption (unless the dog is over age 10).
Adopters must agree to keep the dog current on vaccinations and heart worm, flea, tick prevention on a year round basis.
