KC is the cutest 8-year-old, 77lb Korean Jindo mix with a heart full of love ready to share. She's sweet, mellow, and gentle - the perfect companion for quiet moments. KC has arthritis, but it isn't slowing her down one bit! Leisurely strolls and belly rubs make KC one happy girl! She prefers to be your one and only pet, as she wants to soak up all of your attention. If you're looking for a calm and loving friend, KC is the one for you! Upon adoption of either a cat or dog, adoption fees do vary. All adoption fees include up-to-date vaccinations, spay/neuter, and microchip. You must be at least 18 years of age to adopt. Every adopter must submit an adoption application and be approved before meeting the animal they are interested in. Please call the shelter at 417-833-2526 or visit SWH.ORG for more information.

The mission of the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri is to aid in the alleviation of distress and suffering of animals by operating a shelter in need of care, placing animals in suitable homes, and offering educational programs that promote animal welfare.

We receive our animals from people giving up their pets for a variety of reasons, including changes in family situations and moving. Some of our animals have been strays rescued from the streets by a kind citizen, but all of our animals are looking for permanent, loving forever homes.
