Larry, Curly and Moe are a very playful and curious bunch. Larry and Moe are two peas in a pod. They spend most of their time together playing or exploring their enclosure. Larry tends to lead the way and chooses what the pair will do next, while Moe tends to be the shyer of the two and follows Larry’s lead. He waits until Larry says it is time for bed at the end of the day before he makes his way into their room for the night.
Curly is his own alpaca. His curiosity is unmatched and he is not afraid to investigate new animals, people, or objects that he sees over the fence. Curly lives by his daily routine and gets very excited when it is time for food at the end of the day. He will often race to his room ahead of you, and then will turn around run back to where you are to make sure you are still coming before running right back to his room.
These boys were part of a rescue where they were not being cared for and had little to no human interaction. This led to them being wary of people and harder to handle. Curly is on long term medication to level out his mood and reduce his "curiosity with no personal space” tendencies. Setting boundaries and keeping up with his medication and routine are key! This can take some time but as long as you stick to it, he does wonderful.
Larry, Curly, and Moe’s ideal home would involved an experienced alpaca handler who can provide them with their own pasture (they should not share a pasture or shelter with other animals) where they can relax and enjoy each other’s company. They would need a patient and understanding family who is willing to keep to a routine and give space when they need it -- they very much like to do their own thing and always will.

More about this rescue
Pasado’s Safe Haven was founded in 1997 in honor of “Pasado“, a beloved donkey who was tortured to death by three teenage boys. Located on 85 acres in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, we are a non-profit on a mission to end animal cruelty.
In addition to investigating animal cruelty crimes and providing sanctuary and rehabilitation to animals who have suffered from abuse and neglect, we also advocate for better laws to protect animals and work to educate the public about how they can help end animal suffering. Through our uniquely comprehensive programs, we are able to help thousands of animals every year and spread a message of compassion to countless people.
