My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlie loves being inside on a comfortable bed, is harness trained, and loves his hoomans. Charlie is an elderly pig with arthritis so he isn’t the fastest pig, but he’ll slowly make his way over to you for snacks and snuggles. He is harness trained and loves his hoomans! Charlie also enjoys time inside and loves a comfortable bed and some time for a good nap.

When Charlie's best friend Elmo passed away suddenly, he was sad and felt very alone. He has since been introduced to another senior pig at the sanctuary and lives in a yard with the other potbellies. He is usually found napping in the sun, but he does very well at getting along with everyone!

*Charlie was previously kept as a house pig and would make a great indoor companion (as long as he still had some outdoor access!).

More about this rescue

Pasado’s Safe Haven was founded in 1997 in honor of “Pasado“, a beloved donkey who was tortured to death by three teenage boys. Located on 85 acres in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, we are a non-profit on a mission to end animal cruelty.

In addition to investigating animal cruelty crimes and providing sanctuary and rehabilitation to animals who have suffered from abuse and neglect, we also advocate for better laws to protect animals and work to educate the public about how they can help end animal suffering. Through our uniquely comprehensive programs, we are able to help thousands of animals every year and spread a message of compassion to countless people.
