My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poppy, Rose and Sweetpea made the long journey to the sanctuary from Oregon – originally part of the PNW 250 Pig Rescue. These three girls stick together – if one pig wants to do something, they all have to do it! But they have their own quirks and endearing qualities.

Rose is the gentle giant of the bunch (and a couch potato). Rose especially likes to lay in the mud wallows while supervising the little guys. Sweetpea’s ears flap in the wind when she runs and it’s THE cutest thing. She is always ready for a belly rub.

These three girls show us everyday just how strong they are by overcoming their sad history and continuing to trust and enjoy people.

More about this rescue

Pasado’s Safe Haven was founded in 1997 in honor of “Pasado“, a beloved donkey who was tortured to death by three teenage boys. Located on 85 acres in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, we are a non-profit on a mission to end animal cruelty.

In addition to investigating animal cruelty crimes and providing sanctuary and rehabilitation to animals who have suffered from abuse and neglect, we also advocate for better laws to protect animals and work to educate the public about how they can help end animal suffering. Through our uniquely comprehensive programs, we are able to help thousands of animals every year and spread a message of compassion to countless people.
