MEET JUNIOR #5!!!!!

My name is Junior, I'm 8 years old and a HUGE (80lbs and strong) couch potato!  I am a really big guy, but I forget that...a lot! Because of that, I am best in a home with no small children. I might knock them over and not know it, but big kids would work out great!

Cats are not my favorite and I will try to chase one if I see it.  I don't really like small dogs either (because they remind me of cats), I might be ok with medium or large dogs, but would need an introduction to make sure. I like short walks around the neighborhood and short hikes are okay, as long as I am your main focus, I love attention! Even though I am 80 pounds, I will try to sit in your lap and get cozy. I really just want to find my person and lay beside them all day and have my belly rubbed! My foster mom puts me in my big crate when she goes to work and I'm okay with that. Especially because I get a treat! Let me know if you think you might be my person!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website: www.underdogaz.com.

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.

Go meet their pets

We attend multiple adoption events throughout the valley during Spring and Fall.
If you are interested in a specific pet, please complete our adoption application found on our website and we can then coordinate a meet and greet.

More about this rescue

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.

We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.

Underdog's mission also includes educating the public on the issue of animal welfare. We strive to promote shelter reform, spay and neuter education and emergency rescue information & assistance.
