My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet sweet old Speckles. He is a mellow, quiet older 35 lb low rider mixed breed dog.

His former home was no longer able to care for him so he was surrendered to rescue.

He has lived with and is in a foster home with cats and does fine with them, snuggling them if they are ok with it but otherwise mostly ignoring them. He is ok with mellow small dogs for sure. He would not do well living with a large young bouncy dog. On walks he enjoys meeting other friendly dogs on leash of all shapes and sizes.

Speckles does have arthritis and can get a bit grumbly if roughly handled so small children living in his home are not a good fit. He would likely do fine with older respectful children who understand his need for not being jostled. He also can't do stairs because of his arthritis.

Speckles enjoys getting pet by humans, relaxing on his dog beds, eating jerky treats and hanging out in the sunshine. He is starting to play with toys in his foster home too!

Speckles is neutered and has had basic shots and rabies vaccinations.
