My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tippy looks like a serious girl, but she is actually a sweet little love bug! She came into rescue as a stray -- we picked her up from the shelter on her last day and discovered not the “senior” dog the shelter thought she was, but a six or seven year old girl in the prime of her life looking for a great home. She has the classic BT face and has a way of cocking her head and looking at you like she just asked a question and is waiting for you to answer. The vet tells us she was probably an outdoor dog because her ears were sunburned and her teeth are worn down, probably from chewing out of boredom. She isa little hard of hearing but is still and active and loving part of her foster family. When she was first rescued, she seemed rather serious, but has since turned into a playful girl who loves to shake and chew her blanket, and play with balls (she always tries to fit them into her mouth...even the basketballs). When Tippy first came to her foster home, she had a few accidents inside, but since her foster mom put in a dog door she has not had a single accident. It seems that Tippy does get anxious when she is left alone, and would prefer a home where someone is home most of the time. However, she does fairly well in her crate when she needs to be left alone, and after a few minutes of pitiful whining, she settles down to sleep. Perhaps because of her time on the streets, Miss Tippy is quite a runner and although she is learning “stay” and not making a break for an open door as often as when she first came into rescue, her adoptive family will need to have a securely fenced yard that she can not jump or dig her way out of, and keep an extra close eye on her around open doors that lead out into the world. Tippy has had a thorough health checkup, is current on all her vaccinations and has been spayed. The vet says she has no apparent health issues – she just needs to gain some weight on her skinny bones. She is a very bright girl who gives awesome kisses, loves people, and gets along great with other dogs. If you would like to meet Miss Tippy, please give us a call. But beware -- you might just fall in love!
