Foster Homes Needed!

Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog?

http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html

*****************

Luke is a lucky dog.  Mutts was supposed to take another dog from the shelter but that dog was adopted and we were asked if we could take Luke.  Of course we said yes!  He is a calm and gentle adult male beagle.  He has the characteristic sniffing traits of his breed and is curious to investigate life around him when outdoors.  Luke has a sweet, quiet disposition.  He is on the larger side for a beagle, weighing in at 45 lbs. of pure love (this guy loves his food and is working on losing some lbs).  Luke is thriving in the loving foster home he shares with his beagle foster sister.  He continues to be an easy going and good natured gentleman and is very nicely behaved in a home environment.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The first step in our process is the application which can be completed either online or at one of our adoption events. We would then conduct an interview with all members of the household. We do a vet reference if applicable, and lastly, we do a home visit. Our adoption fee is $285 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on all required vaccines, tested for heartworm and tickborne diseases, and on year-round heartworm preventative. Lastly, all dogs are microchipped.

Go meet their pets

We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. See our website for a full list of our upcoming events http://www.muttloverescue.org/events.html

More about this rescue

Mutt Love Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer dog rescue organization serving the Washington, DC, metro area. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason – dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect.

We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives.

Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority.

We are determined to keep administrative expenses extremely low so that virtually every dollar taken in goes directly to the care of the animals. Our group remains interested in and committed to the welfare of the dog beyond the adoption process.

Finally, we strive to work with area shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.
