Meet sweet little Buddy, an American Staffordshire/Pit Bull mix. The shelter felt that Buddy was a little over a year old, but we feel he is only about 10 months old. Buddy was found roaming the streets. Was he lost? Abandoned? We will never know. This little guy did not fend too well for himself on the streets because he was super skinny. Buddy has already put on some weight in his new foster home and he looks fantastic! When Buddy's foster mom picked him up at the shelter, his tail never peeked out from between his legs. Once he walked outside, his tail slowly started to wag as if to say "thank you". The shelter staff said that they LOVED Buddy and his foster mom can see why!
Buddy is a little shy at first, but very curious about new people-- and friendly too! He enjoys greeting women, men, and children. He will sniff a newcomer and then move in for a nice chin rub. Buddy loves being around other dogs. He follows his foster sister (a German Shepherd mix) around everywhere she goes. He even goes to Dog Days Daycare (in Hillsborough) with her! He does very well at doggie daycare. He gets along with all of the dogs, big and small. Buddy is still very much a playful pup. He will need plenty of play and exercise. He enjoys going for walks and his foster mom can see the relief in his eyes when he sees that he is going back into a warm home. Buddy enjoys playing fetch with his dog toys and chewing on his chew toys and bones. He also loves to snuggle next to his foster mom at bedtime. Buddy is a smart boy. He already knows how to "sit", "wait", and "come here". Buddy would do best in a home which included another canine companion. Other dogs seem to help him relax. He loves to play, play, play with his foster sister; but then he cuddles up next to her when he is tired.
Buddy is a friendly guy with a lot of love to give. If you think that you would like to provide a loving home for this beautiful, brindle boy, please fill out an application and come meet Buddy at our next adoption day. Buddy can't wait to find his "forever buddy".
