Petula's Birthday: May 10, 2021
Esmae's Birthday: May 13, 2020
Special kitties and the people who love them deserve special treatment. That’s why Petula and Esmae have watercolor portraits which will be given as our gift to the special person who adopts them.
Esmae started her life outdoors as part of a TNR project. She was trapped to be fixed except the humans who trapped her noticed something; she was a nursing mother! They released her to continue caring for her young babies, considering it to be the best course of action. There was a problem though. Esmae didn't want to go back out there! So the trappers concocted a different strategy. They captured her kitten and brought the two of them to LCCR in the hopes of finding a family. That kitten was Petula!
Initially, the pair were scared of their new environment. Esmae knew this was a safer option for her daughter and decided, "We are NOT going back out there!" Petula knew this was her mother's final decision on the matter! Though they were shy around humans, they took to the other foster cats quickly! Esmae was incredibly friendly towards them and even acted as a surrogate mother to nursing kittens! Petula saw these new cats as her siblings, and she wasn't taking up to the idea of having dozens and dozens of new siblings! She decided if she was going to be adopted with her mother, it was going to be just them!
So, what kind of personalities do this mother-daughter pair have?
Well, Esmae can be a little timid around new people, but once she warms up to you, she will treat you like her own kitten! She's a socialite, loving to talk your ear off like the two of you have been best friends for years! She loves to tease her favorite humans too! She will pretend that she wants you to pet her, but just stay enough out of reach so YOU have to work for those pets! Though she can be a troll at times, as long as her new home is quiet, she will find a way to wriggle into your heart!
Petula didn't inherit her mother's socialization skills unfortunately! However, she does try to hold a conversation as best as she can! She likes to know how you're doing in her own sweet way! She's also incredibly intelligent! She knows her nickname "Bee-Bee," and acknowledges you if you call for her! She's a bit timid, like her mother, but she doesn't run or hides. She honestly wants to get to know you and hopefully enjoy some bonding time!
Petula and Esmae's adoption donation is $11 5 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay.
