My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Look at the sweet face! Fila is about 9-months-old and weighs 37#. He has a curly coat and docked tail, so we think he is part Springer and part Austrailian Shepherd.

Fila was a stray, who evaded capture for at least 6 weeks. He foraged for food and drank water from bird waterers. He dug holes and slept in them, in the ditch, in the rain. He evaded traffic, people who wanted to harm him, and a developer who threw rocks at him. Poor boy! He was too young to be one his own! Even though he was on his own, he kept his sense of humor. He was seen taking off with the water bucket and dog dish and entertaining himself with them. He would roll the bucket down the hill and chase it, then throw it in the air and jump and run around.

Many kind-hearted locals worried for him, but couldn't catch him. Five people put out dog food, so he lived like a king for three weeks. Finally a brainstorm. Volunteers asked Frank Feela, a local developer, if they could use his garage to lure Fila in with food. He said yes and once inside, Fila turned out to be just a sweet, little scared puppy dog!

Fila has been a real joy to his foster home. He is house trained, well-behaved, and only chews on appropriate items. His foster mom is working on the obedience training, since he has never had a leash on before, and his crate training.

He is shy, but very loving and friendly. He likes all dogs, cats, kids, and people.

Fila deserves to be in a loving home to forget his terrible start at life! Are you that special home?

Please call Fila’s foster home (Leana at 763-792-6546) for any information about him. It is her work number, so leave a message if she is not there.
