My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Anna…. She lives to be with you. She enjoys doggy activities but her favorite activity is simply being with you. She loves walks, car rides, tennis ball retrieval or lying near you as you answer emails. Anna doesn’t just live she thrives on her/your daily routine. If you have a busy day, that’s OK she will spend her day watching you work. She is smart, food motivated and eager to please. Her personality and intelligence make her a great student. She has most of the basic commands mastered and is already house and crate trained. She is ready for that next big step in her life. Remember Anna is a book with only a sentence or two in each paragraph. She is waiting for you to finish her life’s story with her. Someone will get a great companion who would love to spend her day on your schedule. Anna has all the right ingredients; wouldn’t you like to bake the cake?

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The Adoption process is designed to help best place dogs with homes that are in the best interest of the dogs and their human companions. Not placing meaningful "dogs best interest" criteria on adopters for any dog can too easily put the dog in charge of the direction of the relationship and it is irresponsible for the dog, the family, and society. The adoption process starts with a prescreen review of an Guardian Application. Making decisions about dog placement in adoptive homes is an "art", not a "science", and there will be times when applications will be denied for various reason(s). This is left to the discretion of the MAPS after reviewing relevant information. MAPS reserves the right to make all decisions regarding placement or final disposition of any rescued dog in its care into a foster or adoptive home. There is absolutely no guarantee, made or implied, that any person or persons requesting to adopt a dog being fostered through MAPS, or posted on MAP's web site, will be granted an adoption. After a successful prescreen, including background checks, the applicant(s) are notified that they can visit the dogs and a time slot is made for the dog and applicant interaction. After the interaction we encourage several days of reflection before adopting a pet to help assure this will be a lifetime commitment of love and quality care for the dog. Next we conduct a home/neighborhood visit to the Guardian Applicant's home. If the home visit proves successful the new mom and/or dad of the dog will sign an Adoption Agreement and share a lifetime of love !
