Jimmy's mom was a stray that had her little family outside. A sweet lady found them and provided help and once Jimmy was old enough he came to the shelter to find his forever home. He has been very shy from the start but has made many new friends with the other cats. Jimmy hangs out on what we call the "shy tree" over looking the dog play yard, so plenty to watch. Volunteers are able to pet him and give him love if they can find him in the "right location" ~ not able to run; plus we have to go slow with him. He seems to enjoy being petted and hopefully someone will give him the time he needs to want to be petted all the time. Jimmy loves treats and it's so fun when we see him coming around a corner to see what is happening in the main area. Submit Application
Go to hsnwga.org to apply for a dog or cat. Once approved you can meet the dog or cat at our shelter and take them home.

Sign Adoption Contract
Our adoption fees for dogs are $275 and up. All are age appropriately vetted and chipped.

For safety/insurance reasons we can only allow those 12 years or older to go into the dog kennel wing of the shelter. We ask all visitors not to stick their fingers/hands into the dog kennels. Our adoptable dogs and cats are viewable through our website. Everyone interested in applying for a dog or cat must submit an application through our website. We receive multiple applications for each animal. Applications for particular animals are based on best fit for each animal based on each animal’s behaviors and needs. An application not being selected for a particular animal does not necessarily mean the application was denied, but just that another application was approved.
