My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE 9/18/21: Aston, our 10 year old little Yorkie had her dental yesterday. The vet said she doesnt have too many teeth remaining, but she has no problem eating. We call Aston the Velcro dog because she wants to be with you wherever you are and when you sit, thats an open invitation for her to jump on your lap. Aston is up to date on vaccinations, is spayed and is housebroken. She prefers to go outdoors but will use a potty pad.

Due to cataracts in both eyes, Aston has practically no vision, however she learns quickly and maneuvers the house very well. She gets along well with my yorkies even though one isnt always pleasant to her.

Aston may fit better in a quiet, adult only home and she would probably prefer to be the only dog. She does need a fenced yard as she wanders despite her vision issues. If you would like more information, you can email her foster mom. Applications can be completed on the United Yorkie Rescue website for those who think Aston might be a perfect family member.

UPDATE BIO: 08/14/21. Aston is a super sweet and lovable little 10 year old girl. She has been spayed, microchipped and is up to date on all vaccinations. She will be getting a dental and we are going to schedule an eye consult to see what we can do to have her cataracts removed, so she can have vision again. At the present time she has one mature cataract in one eye and another cataract in the other eye that causes her to bump into things and not be able to move out of your path. I have tripped over several times as she wants to be everywhere you are and I would not want someone to and injure themself or her.

Aston should be in an adult only home and with no other dogs or possibly with a dog who is calm and understanding of her vision disability. Hopefully we can get this corrected. I will update as we find out more. If you are interested in adopting sweet little Aston, please complete an application on the United Yorkie Rescue website.

UPDATE BIO: 07/17/21. Aston had her wellness checkup yesterday at the vet. She is currently up to date on all vaccinations and her heart worm test was negative, yahoo! She does have a mature cataract in one eye so she is pretty much blind in that eye and a cataract in the other eye that limits her vision so she bumps into things. She does a fair job going up stairs but her depth perception is way off going down so she needs to be in a home without stairs or have the stairs closed off so she doesnt fall down them. She also needs someone who understands blind or visually impaired dogs as she wants to follow everywhere you go and if you make a quick turn, you practically fall over her.

Aston also needs a home with no small children due to her near blindness condition. Even with limited vision, she wants to take off outdoors so she must always be leashed and a fenced yard is required.

Aston is a very sweet and extremely lovable little lady who prefers sitting on laps other than sitting on a cold, hard floor or carpet. If you think Aston might make your life complete, please fill out an application for adoption. She has so much love to offer!

INITIAL BIO: 07/07/21 Aston is a sweet little 8 1/2 pound , 10 year old little bundle of love who is being fostered in Beach Park, IL. She will be seeing the vet shortly for her checkup. She does seem to have a vision issue but her hearing is excellent. If you look in the dictionary under lap dog, I do believe there is a picture of Aston. She is the ultimate lap dog! Because of her age and poor eyesight, she needs a fenced yard and a home with no small children.

I will post more info on her later as she just came into the rescue and we are still evaluating. If you think she would make an excellent companion, please complete an application at www.unitedyorkierescue.org
