My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Feather needs a special home that can help her overcome her fears. She needs a fenced yard, no apartments, no children under 10 and no large dogs. She needs someone who is patient and can dedicate the time to making her feel safe and loved. She’s had a rough start in life and has never learned that people can be good. The world can be a scary place sometimes especially if you’ve spent your entire life living in a hoarding situation with dozens of other dogs. Poor little Feather grew up in that world and never really learned what love is. She came to us from a local animal control, and she had just had four little babies. Well, she was a fantastic mother and raised her babies. Now it is her turn. Feather, a 2-year-old terrier mix, is looking for the perfect home to show her the ropes and teach her that the world has a lot to offer. She will need a very calm, patient household where she can take her time and blossom into the sweet, loving girl we know she can be. A home with a fenced in yard would be best for her because she loves to go outside and run laps. She would prefer a home without small children because sudden movements and noises still make her nervous…in time, that may change. What she needs most is someone who is patient and kind and is willing to give her the time it takes to let her become the special girl we know she is. If you think Feather may be the girl for you, send us an email soon at info@ciatn.org.
**All Compassion in Action dogs must be adopted by families willing to have their pets be a part of their family and must be allowed inside—especially at night. No dog is allowed to be put on a “tie-out” or chain outside and should be walked on a leash when not in a fenced yard.
**All Compassion in Action dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations prior to adoption.
**All Compassion in Action dogs and cats are in foster care in middle Tennessee and will be transported to our drop off sites after their adoption.
