My story

Schwarber is a sweet 10-month-old boy that weighs around 50 lbs. His foster family has been working very hard to teach him how to balance his puppy tendencies with acceptable behavior. He would benefit from an adoptive family that also has experience raising a puppy and the training that comes along with it. Schwarber loves to cuddle. If he can’t find a human willing to cuddle with him, he will accept a canine friend as a second choice. He loves his toys, will hoard them and then lay in the middle of his pile throwing them in the air and rubbing his scent on them. Schwarber would do well in a home with another active dog (or no dog) and older children. Cats would not enjoy Schwarber’s company. Schwarber is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations and crate and house trained.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.

Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Why adoption is a great option

Schwarber, a CUMMING Labrador Retriever/Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pointer for sale in CUMMING, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pointer dog from a breeder in CUMMING.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in CUMMING already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a CUMMING breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pointer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in CUMMING paves the way for another one to be saved.
