My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

JJ is a wonderful little Silky Terrier that came to us from Texas.  He was left at a shelter and our wonderful rescue partners got him out in the nick of time!  We know at one time, JJ was someone's dog and can only imagine what he was thinking or feeling being all alone at the shelter with no family to come and rescue him!   We believe JJ is somewhere between 7-9 years old and he weighs about 10 pounds.

JJ is practically perfect in his foster mom's eyes!  He is a happy boy that loves attention and loves to be with his foster mom.  He walks nicely on a leash but also loves the freedom of the fully fenced yard in his foster home.  He is always the last one in - he just wants to do one more sniff around the yard!   JJ is crate trained too - never a peep when he goes in.  He will come and tell his foster mom when he needs to go outside if it is not during the regular potty breaks he gets.  We believe he is housetrained but please expect some adjustment time in his new home.  JJ does well with other dogs but if he is getting picked on, he will stick up for himself.  He often gets in on the toy action with other dogs and shows he can still keep up with the young guns!  JJ has not been around kids in his foster home but we do not think there will be an issue as long as they are respectful to him.  JJ is VERY food motivated and loves people food, always hoping for something to hit the floor!  Sometimes, a little cheese will "accidentally" fall out of his foster mom's hands and JJ thinks he hit the jackpot!  JJ came to us in rough shape.  He still needed to be neutered, underweight, and needing a dental.  He also had an infection somewhere and that showed up during routine bloodwork for a dental.   JJ is finally medically cleared and ready for t a new life in NY.

JJ is now neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  He has also been given a dental.  JJ was just recently professionally groomed here and will need regular grooming throughout his life.  His adoption fee is $400
