Tilly had a blast at the beach recently. She LOVED getting sand between her toes on beach walks, wagged her tail and grinned at everyone she passed, and bounded up and down the stairs at her beach house. She loved seeing seagulls everywhere and didn’t mind the waves washing ashore near her feet. Born July 2020, Tilly is surprisingly agile for her stocky 56 pound frame. Tilly quickly learned sit, down, and shake commands, walks on a leash, and is crate trained. We are teaching the commands "leave it", "stay", and "come". We positively reinforce her when she sits to greet anyone. She is a quiet, non-demanding dog with no evident anxiety or hyperactivity. She entertains herself well without barking when crated. Tilly's muscular build is powerful and strong. Daily leash walks provide Tilly with adequate exercise. Tilly is a love bug and soooo affectionate with people she knows. She spins and dances with excitement when first petted. Tilly is vaccinated, dewormed, spayed, vet checked, and microchipped. She needs routine monthly heartworm prevention as all dogs do. Tilly has met cats at her foster home while being told "Leave it!", but is not yet trustworthy off leash around cats,. A single adopter or adoptive family with respectful teens should be a fine match with Tilly. Tilly is neutral toward the dogs at her foster home (one male, one female) but is separated for food and treats. She was very social with a litter of puppies born at the foster home. Tilly has blossomed into a gentle, sweet soul who loves Kong toys filled with peanut butter or rawhide chews.. She hopes to share her loving spirit with a dog experienced forever family.
