My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Awesome Autumn is looking for her forever family, and wants her new people to know these 10 things about her:

I am currently being fostered in BELTON, MO.

I am a Presa Canario and I am about 2 years old. I’m really social for my breed and although I can be shy at first, I warm up to new people quickly.

I have successfully lived in a home with an infant, but I think I would do best in a home with kids over 10, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs.

I am generally indifferent about little dogs, and I am very friendly with medium and large dogs. If my new home had dogs over 30lbs for me to play with, I would like it very much.

I am not a fan of felines, so a cat-free home is best for me.

I have a few bad habits that I am working on correcting in my foster home: I have been known to counter-surf and also I have some separation anxiety. Really, I just don’t like it when you leave me alone outside, because I’m not sure that you’re coming back. My new family will need to have a very tall, very secure fence around their yard, because I am likely to escape and try to find you. I think it would be best if you could walk me on a leash or make sure I’m supervised when outdoors for the first few months.

The words that best describe me are friendly, affectionate, and happy.

My favorite things to do are hanging with people, playing with toys, and riding in cars.

I am perfectly housebroken and crate-trained, and I am great on a leash. I’m also learning basic obedience!

I am fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. I have completed heartworm treatment and just need to be retested in six months.

Ready to give Autumn the forever home of her dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at www.bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab.

We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.
