A little note from Jerry - July 2022:
Hi, my name is Jerry. I used to be called Scary Jerry because I was afraid of everyone that came near me. But since I've been at Shadow Ranch I've started loosening up and realizing people are kinda okay. So I've outgrown the name and am now just Jerry. I use to be a bit of a rowdy rascal, which entailed herding people by the ankles, barking, and eating poop; but I try really hard to be a good boy and behave.... so now I'm only a rascal on occasion when I get really excited. I love all my dog friends here and playing ball is my favorite; I'm the fastest one of all my friends, but if one of the others somehow get the ball before me I'll just try and steal it from 'em. Not to brag but I'm pretty darn smart and I know to potty outside, how to stay in my crate (although if I'm left out I do enjoy sitting on top of my crate... the view is better from up there), sit, down, shake, and even roll. I
shake, rattle, and roll! I like to be active as I have a lot of energy, but I like to cuddle and give licks to my people as well. I've been here at SOS Dog Rescue since September 2021 and I'm so ready to find my forever home, where my family will be patient with me and accept me for my quirky-ness; so I can just be myself... just Jerry.
Update on Jerry Dec 21: Jerry can be mouthy (definitely a heeler). Very active, he can be shy with new people and even a little stubborn. Jerry is great with dogs but will not a strong human leader. He is not recommended with children under 12 years old.
Jerry came to us from The City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center in September 2021. He is about 2 years old and thought to be a Border Collie/Heeler mix. He is a little shy at first but warms up quick. He is good with dogs and doing well with his training. Stay tuned for more on Jerry!
