My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Guardian passed away and left seven dogs. Mac and Babe must be adopted together. They sleep together, eat together, play together. They like toys and hanging out with you :-)

Their neutering/spaying, vaccines, deworming, and microchip are included in their adoption fee. Mac is 5 yrs old and Babe is 2. They were born on one of the reservations we work with.

Our Covid/Adoption/Meetgreet policies:
Please email us to see if the pup is still available DesertPawsNM@gmail.com

After we've approved your application, there will be a phone/zoom call where we can answer your questions and discuss a time to bring the dog to your home. The meetgreet/adoption must include all household members and pets. Please wear a mask and keep socially distanced (as will we). Everything will take place outside. Our adoptables are fostered and we like to keep in touch with the individuals/families that adopt (please send us an update/pic of the pets once in a while). We look forward to meeting you and your pets!

Must haves:
You must live within our adoption area to adopt from us (Abq, Santa Fe, Rio Rancho, Los Alamos/White Rock areas). Please don't apply if you live in another state or outside of the stated local.

Children must be over the age of seven.

Thank you for your understanding! We look forward to meeting you and your pets!

More about this rescue

We work with the animals at three local Indian tribes (pueblos). We have a spay/neuter called, Door2Door, we assist animals with medical emergencies, prevention, education. We rehab and re-home the unwanted, abandoned, and neglected. At the time of adoption, we bring the pet to your home to make sure all family members including all fur babies get along and all are onboard and committed to the pet. We have an adoption process and we like to stay in touch with the families for the life of the pet.
