Dahlia is a beautiful, sweet Foxhound from Louisiana. She is about 2 years old and weighs about 45 lbs. She is timid around new people at first, but warms up once she knows you. She seeks out affection and loves attention. In fact, she often nudges her foster mom for some ear scratches. Dahlia loves toys and likes to collect them. She sleeps in bed with her fosters where she likes to have a stuffed toy for comfort. Dahlia will be a wonderful addition to a home with another playful dog. Dahlia is being fostered in New Hampshire and is available for visits.

Once the phone interview is completed, we will check your vet reference as well as a personal reference and conduct a home visit.

Outside of New England, coonhounds are mostly used for hunting and are often discarded and undervalued if they turn out to be poor trackers or are not needed anymore. Our mission is to educate people about the suitability of coonhounds as pets; to provide support to coonhound owners; and to re home as many coonhounds as possible .
