My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fritz is a cute hound mix from Virgina. He's about a year old and weighs about 40 lbs. Fritz has a lot of playful puppy energy, although he can be a little tentative in new situations. He has a sweet personality and is engaging with people once he feels comfortable. Fritz had a light case of heartworm and has been treated these past three months. He's healthy and active and can't wait to stretch his legs with some good long runs and walks. Fritz gets along with other dogs and has enjoyed running and playing at the dog park. Fritz has arrived in Massachusetts and is ready for visits.

Go meet their pets

We often have booths at dog related events and have trail walks throughout New England where you can meet some coonhounds and beagles and their owners. Watch our website for details.

More about this rescue

Coonhounds make wonderful pets. They are very sociable and affectionate and get along well with families and with other dogs. Outside of New England, coonhounds are mostly used for hunting and are often discarded and undervalued if they turn out to be poor trackers or are not needed anymore. Our mission is to educate people about the suitability of coonhounds as pets; to provide support to coonhound owners; and to re home as many coonhounds as possible .
