Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Vinny has had it rough his 4 years of life and deserves the absolute best. Vinny is a tripod who definitely don`t let his disability stop him. He came in originally as a younger puppy with a already wrongly healed back leg. Our vet had to amputate it. He adjusted really quick afterwards to having only 3 legs and shortly after that got adopted. He was gone for about a year and then his owner sadly got very sick and couldn`t care for him anymore. Since then he`s been patiently waiting for his new furever home and family. Vinny would do better as a only furbaby and would do great with older kids. He`s a good boy who loves to be loved on. He loves toys and going for walks. I sometimes think he thinks he still has 4 legs because it`s never slowed him down. He runs and chases and plays just like any other dog. It`s time this handsome guy gets out of the hectic shelter life and finds his calm quieter home with a family he can spend time with and love on whenever he wants. Come meet Vinny at the Spartanburg Humane Society and come make this boys happily ever furever come true.

Thank you for choosing to look for your new pet at the SHS!
There are always many wonderful and loving animals available for adoption. Dogs and cats are most common, but small animals, like rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters, as well as large animals, like horses, are also in need of a new home.
We are open six days a week, making it convenient for you to stop by for a visit.
Why adopt from the SHS?
The Spartanburg community continues to produce many thousands of unwanted animals every year.
As the only open admission animal shelter in the county, the Adopt Your New Best Friend! SHS provides for the temporary needs of these pets. But we need your help to provide them with permanent homes!
Adoption fees offer incredible value at $85 for dogs and $49 for cats. These fees include spay or neuter surgery, permanent microchip identification, as well as many other perks.
We also offer low-cost veterinary services for adopters. In other words, we are committed to your match being a success!
Just as importantly, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped to give a loving animal a much deserved second chance.
Remember, you will need some supplies for your new pet. You can purchase much of what you will need at the Spartanburg Humane Society Save-A-Pet Store, and all proceeds benefit the homeless animals in our care.
