Danci is a special cat, in search of her special adopter! Might YOU be that person!?
Danci is a sweet and quiet girl that we rescued from the streets in Brooklyn. She was likely someone's cat, and then abandoned, so she joined an outdoor colony of cats that were being fed by a kind man. She "danced" between his feet whenever she saw him--hence the name Danci! Our rescue group TNR'd all the cats at the location that were feral, but we wanted to get Danci safely indoors and off the streets. She is currently in foster care where she has a great big cat tree, tons of toys, and the healthy meals that she was missing when living on the street.
Danci has been waiting for a home for over a year. Kitties like Danci who are more reserved tend to take longer to find an adopter, but we believe there is someone out there for every cat we rescue! If you are ready to open your heart to this gentle 3-year old gal, and accept that she may take a little time to really blossom--please reach out to us.
Her habit has been to find a safe spot and remain there until she is ready to play, and then she goes nuts with her toys! She really comes alive when she's attacking her favorite toys. At other times she is content to snuggle in her carrier, or in a cubby hole in her cat tree, and she is accepting of petting and brushing when she is in her safe spot. Danci's ideal home is quiet & peaceful, with a person who will establish trust with her, as well as encourage her to step out of her comfort zone in order to benefit from human attention. In order to become more social and interactive with her humans, she needs some nudging -- sweet talking and gentle hands on but not too many treats :). She lived with other cats on the street, but in her foster home she has preferred to be an only kitty.
Danci is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

Potential adopters are required to complete our adoption application; once an application has been approved, the adopter must sign our adoption agreement. All cats are vaccinated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and spay/neutered as part of adoption.
We require a donation of $150 per cat. This amount represents just a small fraction of the actual costs we incur for each animal under our care, and helps us to continue our ongoing efforts.

More about this rescue
Infinite Hope is an all-volunteer IRS-approved 501(c)(3) not-for-profit animal rescue. Since its inception in early 2004, Infinite Hope has placed over 1,000 animals in permanent and loving homes. Because we are an all volunteer organization 100% of our funds goes towards the housing, care and placement of our animals.
Our Board and volunteers donate their time and resources toward the cause of caring for and finding homes for abandoned animals, eliminating the problem of stray, unaltered animals in New York City, and caring for special needs animals until a permanent or foster home can be found.
While in our care, all of our animals receive high-quality food, shelter, positive interaction with our volunteers and all necessary medical care, including a complete vet exam, spaying and neutering, (if 5 months of age or older) and testing for communicable feline diseases (FIV and FeLV).
We are fortunate to have a small adoption center at Hope Veterinary Clinic at 390 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn. In addition we have a foster network so that our animals can receive care and attention until we have placed them with a loving and permanent home.
All adopters are carefully screened. Volunteers spend time with potential adopters and available animals, to ensure a good match for all. We are committed to a 100% “no-kill” philosophy and will not accept animals beyond our capacity to care for them.
