My story

Thank you so much for looking into Wags and Whiskers' The Cat House for the newest addition to your family.

Handsome Biscuit Junior came to us from Redding where he was taken to the vet with an injured leg. At the vet, xrays were done and it was determined that Junior would require an expensive surgery to repair his leg; unfortunately, his owner could not afford the bill and opted to euthanize. At this point, the vet stepped in and offered to reach out to rescues to try to find one that could take him in and get him the help he needed so that he could go on to live a full, happy life. The vet called Wags and Whiskers and we agreed to take him on, he got his surgery and gained a second name, Handsome, at our vet's office, then he went off to foster to heal. While in foster care, he gained a third name, Biscuit, and it was discovered that, the now, Handsome Biscuit Junior, had seizures! It has been determined that this poor dude has epilepsy, but his seizures are fully managed by his medication that he takes 3 times daily. Handsome Biscuit Junior is the sweetest boy, he gets along well with other cats and all the people in his foster home. If you are interested in this absolutely amazing creature, and are capable of maintaining a medication schedule, please inquire about Handsome Biscuit Junior today!

At Wags and Whiskers' The Cat House, we do not discriminate against any animal based on their age, current health, or pre-existing medical condition(s). We are a dedicated team of volunteers, with a strong passion for animals and a very special bond with the injured, abused and abandoned. Due to the fact that we work so closely with qualified veterinarians, we are able, and willing, to take on the most complex medical cases to help give them the chance, that ever animal deserves, at a full, happy and healthy life. Our primary goal is giving hope to the hopeless; your adoption helps make a difference.

All of our cats are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested, and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.

Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each cat. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left in a box on the side of a road, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners.

Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.

If you have already filled out an online adoption application with our organization in the last 6 months you do not need to fill out another application. Please call or email us to schedule an appointment 530-588-1160 If you are interested in meeting this pet please apply to adopt at http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html if the pet is still available for adoption and you are approved to adopt we will contact you to set up a meet and greet appointment.

More about this rescue

Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit all breed, NO KILL, animal rescue organization, incorporated in August 2015. We are a primarily volunteer driven group with a number years experience with animals and rescue. Our mission is to rescue, foster, rehabilitate and rehome, abandoned, abused and unwanted animals in Willows and Chico, California.

We rescue animals at risk of euthanasia in shelters, as well as those surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. We are committed to helping the most needy, as well as the readily adoptable.
