** Mama Bear is being fostered in North Alabama.
Meet Mama Bear! In one word - perfection! She is an ambassador for her breed - for sure. This sweet girl has clearly mothered more than her share of litters before finding herself in a local shelter. She was running loose in a neighborhood where everyone hesitated to turn her in because she was the nicest dog and good with all the neighborhood families - unfortunately no one was able to afford to feed another mouth. Mama Bear was pregnant upon coming to the shelter but has since mothered and weaned her beautiful babies who have all been adopted. Now it is HER turn. She was also heartworm positive but has been treated and is ready for adoption.
Mama Bear is completely housebroken and well-behaved. Her foster family leaves her out while they are gone and she sleeps in her favorite chair until they return. Her foster family has two children (10 and under) and 4 dogs (ranging in weight from 10 lbs to 100 lbs). She does great with everyone. Mama is very strong, so she might knock over a smaller child on accident while trying to get some love. Her favorite things are pets and head scratches. She will close her sweet eyes and lean her head into you as long as you continue petting her. She walks great on leash and her foster family has never heard her bark. Mama's only limitation is no cats.
