My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Located in High Ridge MO This is Ziggy, he is a 2.5 year old male neutered Pitt. He’s approximately 50-60 lbs. Rabies, DHLPP and Bordatella are good until Nov. 2021 other than that I have no medical history. He was surrendered by his owner due to unhealthy living conditions for his pets. He is very good with people once he warms up. Does good for baths and nail trims. Doesn’t chew up beds or blankets etc. Good with other big dogs. Not good with small dogs. NO CATS - NO KIDS. We have a male lab golden mix and they were BFF’s after day 2. He loves to burrow under covers, walks well on a leash, doesn’t need expensive food, rides great in the car and has a great warning bark at strangers at the door. He doesn’t bark at the wind or anything excessive. We brought him home for three weeks. He did amazing. We love him and would have kept him but unfortunately something in him doesn’t do well with all kids.

More about this rescue

We are an IRS certified, 501(c)(3) non-profit charity (so all donations are tax-deductible) and all of our foster homes are licensed by the state of Missouri. Because we are an all-volunteer charity, all donations go directly to helping animals in one way or another.

Our purpose is to promote interest and participation in the rescue, foster, and adoption of animals from area pounds and from owners who can no longer take care of their animals due to age/illness/death. We strive to match animals in need with committed adoptive homes. In addition, we are strong advocates of spaying or neutering your pets. When funds permit, we sometimes provide help for those who can't afford to have their pets spayed or neutered.

Our first priority is to rescue dogs and cats from the pounds, particularly those that are to be euthanized soon. As space allows, we also accept strays that are turned in by people who rescued them from the streets.
