My story

Hi! I’m Mindy! I am a 1-year-old 50 lb Retriever mix.

For such a sweet young girl I have an unusual life story. My brother and I were feral puppies. When we were about 9 weeks old the great folks at the shelter found us and gave us a safe, warm place to stay with regular feedings!!🦴 I don’t know how long we were on our own but it was terrible and scary!! We didn’t know about people, toys, how to feed ourselves or anything else. Sadly, we were sick and had mange. 😔

After a few weeks at the shelter our health improved so we both went to a foster home where we could run and play and learn more about trust. I have figured out that people aren’t so bad after all. But I will need a special home where there is lots of patience as I continue to learn about the world.

I would love having a new fur-brother or fur-sister to help teach me and play with me as I am still a puppy😊🐾 I will also need to learn more about potty training but I am a smart girl so I should pick it up with consistency. I would probably do better in a home with older kids as little ones may scare me. Then once I know you and learn my surroundings, I will shower you with kisses that will make all your efforts worthwhile. ❤!

I know I maybe a bit of a project but I will eventually be the best fur baby you have ever seen! I have blossomed over the last few months and can't wait to meet you! Will you give me the love and patience I need in a forever home? Contact the shelter snd they will put you in touch with my foster mom.

The pics here are of me at an adoption event (I've been to a few and get more comfortable at each one!!), me a few months ago enjoying a sunny day, and one with my brother, Mork. (His bio will be up soon)

More about this rescue

We provide animal related services to our local communities. We are currently partnered with multipule cities to provide Animal Control and/or sheltering within their City limits. As part of our daily outreach we pick up stray animals and try to get them back to their owners. In any case where the owner cannot be located and the dog is adoptable we reach out to both the internet community and our local communities to find loving homes.
