My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Our boy Brody is ready for his new home!  This boy is a local dog, his owner was no longer able to care for him.  He is about 1 1/2 years old and 31 pounds.  Brody is a lovely mix of Cavalier and Cocker Spaniel - a Cockalier!

Brody is a great dog and will fit into almost any home.  He is very good with people, friendly and affectionate.  He loves his foster mom very much and we know he will easily transfer this love to a new person or family.  Brody would do well in a home with kids or another dog to play with - he is social and playful!  He knows a few basic commands and is always willing to learn more for a treat!  He does well with the other dogs in his home for the most part - he has issues with one though.  They both came into their foster home at the same time and were not neutered so we believe that is where it stems from.  There have been a few tussles but nothing alarming.  He does well with all of the other dogs in his foster home - male and female.  Brody is good with the cats in the foster home too.  He loves toys and will carry one around most of the day.  He will rip the soft ones up so heavier duty toys are better!  He is still a young pup and will find things to get into if not watched.  Brody is leash trained but pulls hard so we are working on this with him.  He has a fully fenced yard in his foster home and loves to be outside.  He appears to be housetrained but there may be accidents as he learns a new routine and house.  Brody is crate trained also but whines initially when he is put in.  He settles down nicely and enjoys a cow hoove or a snooze.  He is not a big barker but when he does bark, you know there is a dog in the house!!  Brody's breed mix will require grooming throughout his life so please keep that in mind if you are considering him.

Brody is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $600.  This will help with our many hospice and high medical needs dogs in our rescue.  We know Brody will be a popular dog with a lot of interest!
