My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Leela is one of the sweetest dogs there ever was! She loves to sleep in her crate even when there’s beds and blankets all over for her. Hour long naps are her favorite thing! She does love to get attention (particularly belly rubs!) and to play with her chew toys. She does great around women but takes a little longer to warm up to men. She and her babies were attacked by a pack of wild strays who wanted to eat her babies, and she lost her right eye while fighting them off to protect them. Understandably, she doesn't like dogs rushing up to her, or hyperactive dogs who do not respect her personal space. She is perfectly content to co-exist and interact with other calm, easy going dogs, but does not want other dogs to get in her face and is not pleased with fast movements around her. She does well with slow introductions to new dogs and men. She has not had any accidents in the house and loves to sit outside and look around. She is also amazing on the leash! She tested positive for heartworm, ehrlichia, and anaplasma, and Forever Changed Animal Rescue will take care of all the medical and financial aspect of her heartworm treatment.
