Meet Remus Born mid-September 2021, Remus is a soft-hearted, sweet girl who blossoms with patience and trust. While she was once a bold, playful kitten, Remus has grown into a more reserved and gentle soul who prefers a calm environment and slow introductions.
Remus can be shy at first and may take time to feel comfortable, especially around sudden movements or loud noises. Once she trusts you, though, she’s incredibly affectionate in her own quiet way. She loves to lay next to you or at your feet soaking up pets, happily flops over for belly rubs (one of her favorite things!), and kneads her favorite blanket while settling in for a nap. She doesn’t love being held or sitting in laps, but she’s perfectly content being close—just without feeling trapped.
She isn’t a big “toy chaser,” but she does get the occasional zoomies, enjoys catnip, and is inexplicably obsessed with plastic food wrappers, which she considers peak entertainment. Her favorite nap spots include her dresser drawer, curled up next to her feline companion, or tucked into the cozy alcove of her cat tree.
Remus is fully litter box trained, has never shown aggression toward people, and is incredibly gentle. She has never hissed at humans and will only very rarely give a soft, harmless warning nip if overstimulated during belly pets. She’s truly a lover, not a fighter.
She does well with other cats and would likely enjoy having a feline friend, especially with slow, thoughtful introductions. She tends to warm up more quickly to male cats and is particularly bonded to her foster’s personal male cat, following him everywhere and becoming noticeably withdrawn when he’s away. While they don’t wrestle or play much, she clearly thrives with companionship and would do best in a home where she isn’t alone all the time.
Remus’s journey began when a Good Samaritan found her and another young cat roaming the streets together—thin, scared, and trying to survive. They were brought to safety and eventually into foster care, where Remus has continued to grow into the gentle, loving cat she is today.
If you’re looking for a quiet, affectionate companion who will reward your patience with trust, devotion, and the sweetest belly flops, Remus may be your perfect match.
