My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chunk is a neutered male between 11-12 years old. While shy at first, he's friendly and sweet once you pass the sniff test! Chunk lost one of his front legs after being hit by a car, but that doesn't stop this guy from getting around well. Stairs and cars are no big deal to him! Chunk does well with routine and would love a quiet home where he can settle in his crate or nap on the couch. Oh, and he definitely wouldn't mind sharing your bed if you need something to help you stay warm this winter!

A quiet home with no children is important because he startles easily, he's never been aggressive towards them, but little unpredictable people trigger his anxiety and he might bark and this comes across as protective. Chunk is sensitive to when his people are stressed or crying- he just wants to offer comfort and make it all okay.

We don't really know about his behavior around other dogs, but feel like he would be at ease with someone who is experienced with introducing dogs. He is currently living with two cats and is fine around them. In this living situation he has been exposed to a lot of common household noises like a food processor, microwave, and musical instruments. He also walks well on a leash and sits before eating or going outside.
