My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cleo is a very sweet and funny dog who wants to be with her people, but is not underfoot. She is good with other dogs, both larger and smaller, and with children of all ages. When she first came home with us, she was very quiet and reserved, and spent most of her time calmly shadowing whomever was in the house, and laying down nearby to snooze. Recently, she has become much more energetic, and wants only to track and chase squirrels that she sees outside the windows. She is extremely aggressive towards cats, which is the only reason we cannot keep her.

She is very good about going into her crate, and completely attentive while we work on training. She knows 'sit' and 'come', and is working on 'down' and 'stay'. She is polite when meeting new people, keeping 4 paws on the ground, and is a bit shy at first. She loves to have her back scratched, and will lean into whomever is giving her love, bending herself in half to try and lick the hand that pets her. She is good about walking on a leash, but when the squirrels, birds, or cats have her attention, she will pull to try and chase them. She is athletic and can jump very high, so this should be considered when letting her out into a fenced yard.

Cleo is a loving dog who appreciates attention, but is also fine to be on her own. At night, she lays down on her bean bag next to the bed, and sleeps soundly until her person gets up for the day. She will make a wonderful companion in a home with space to run around and without cats.
