Hi I'm Clara! I can be a little bit timid at first around new people, but I'm a really sweet girl once you get to know me. Once I know I'm safe and that we are friends I become a big cuddle bug. I like to try and fit into my friends laps even if I'm a little bit too big. I'm not a big fan of cats, and can be selective about which other dogs I am friends with so I'll want to meet any you may have at home before we settle in. I'm hoping my new family can be gentle with me while I learn some more socialization skills, while spoiling me rotten at the same time! More about this shelter

The Woodford Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal organization located in Versailles, Kentucky. We provide shelter and care to the homeless and unwanted animals in Woodford County, surrounding counties, as well as animals from other states. We care for pets of all breeds and ages, with no time limit on their stay, and we are proud to maintain an annual placement rate of over 95%.

With no government funding, we are completely dependent on private contributions to continue to provide care to around a thousand animals each year.

Adoption fees include spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations and deworming while at our Adoption Center, feline leukemia and FIV screening for cats, heartworm screening for dogs, a microchip with a lifetime registration, a free veterinary checkup, and a starter bag of food.
